The 2025 Cross-Straits (Pingtan) Karting Championship drew to a close on October 19, 2025, at the Pingtan International Karting Track after two days of intense competition. Pingtan, China's second international tourism island known for its status as a comprehensive pilot zone for cross-Straits exchange, played host to this event, which served as the sixth stop in this year's racing series, attracting over a hundred racers from both sides of the Taiwan Straits.
The highlight of the competition was the thrilling "6+6 Hours Endurance Race" group final. On the track, drivers showcased their superb skills in a spirited pursuit of the lead, while off the track, young people from the mainland and Taiwan connected with each other, deepening their mutual understanding.
Zheng Junyu, a racer from Taiwan, shared his experience: "Although this was my first time participating in an endurance race, by continuously adapting, I ultimately managed to set a new personal best during the competition."
Fuzhou-based racer Chen Junjie expressed his enthusiasm about the event. "It's a joy to be able to compete and share experiences with friends from Taiwan," he said.
In recent years, Pingtan has actively worked to build an "Island of Brand Eventsand Energy," utilizing various sports competitions to foster cross-Straits exchange. This Karting Championship served as a key initiative for cultural and sports exchange, further promoting interaction and cooperation between compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Straits in the fields of culture and sports.
