Top sailors from across the Taiwan Straits compete in fingertip sailing in Pingtan

The 2025 event brought elite remote control sailors together to compete for titles across multiple professional classes on the glistening waters.
At the venue, sleek, intricately designed remote control sailboats glided nimbly, harnessing wind as competitors steered with precision to navigate the course. The exciting displays drew crowds of onlookers.
The regatta featured classes including F5-E (IOM, a one-meter remote control sailboat), Baima Lake 280, Baima Lake 400, F5-PS550, and F5-ST950, fostering intense competition across the board.
Lai Jiawei, team leader of the Hong Kong, China delegation, said post-event: "The skill level here was incredible, and I learned a lot. It's a rare exchange opportunity and valuable platform for mutual learning."
Pan Weihua, chairman of the Chinese Pan-Pacific Water Sports Association and three-time participant, noted: "I've watched this competition grow steadily, and I'm delighted. Seeing so many schoolchildren join shows sailing has taken root in campuses – that's fantastic." He highlighted the sport's role in sparking youth interest in maritime activities and creating a successful blueprint for the sport.
