Pingtan, China's second international tourism island after Hainan, has seen Dongzhan Village emerge as a popular winter destination. Selected as a provincial-level rural revitalization model village, the village has transformed from a traditional settlement with poor infrastructure into a vibrant spot with coffee shops, surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, and camping. Tourists enjoy the unique winter coastal atmosphere—chatting in cafes, strolling on wooden paths, and photographing windmills against sunsets. "Pingtan in winter has a special charm. Walking by the sea with friends is so relaxing " said Mr. Yan a visitor from Beijing. A 3,000-square-meter tourism and cultural service center is under construction.
