Pingtan, the closest place on the mainland to the island of Taiwan and a comprehensive pilot zone focused on cross-Straits integration, recently hosted the 2nd "Qilin Craftsman" Cup Cross-Straits Vocational Skills Competition. The event served as a platform for skilled professionals from both sides of the Taiwan Straits to showcase their talents and exchange ideas.

The competition featured a variety of practical skill contests, including internet marketing, hairstyling, courier handling, barista skills, tour guide commentary, homestay housekeeping, and drone piloting. Each venue highlighted the dedication and craftsmanship of participants: precise sorting and packaging by courier handlers demonstrated their commitment to efficient service, while baristas crafted aromatic coffee through careful grinding and brewing.

Xu Liangquan, a Taiwan-based hairstylist with years of industry experience, found profound meaning beyond the competition itself. "The environment and cultural atmosphere here are very similar to Taiwan, making me feel warm and familiar," he shared. As a key part of Pingtan's "Cross-Straits Talent Port" initiative, the event aims to foster exchanges and cooperation between skilled talents from both sides, promoting mutual understanding through professional interactions.
