In January 2026, "Dangsheng Red" cherry tomatoes from Pingtan's Dangsheng Village officially hit the market, featuring three popular varieties: Jinfei, Qianxi, and Nongyou 1744. Boasting a crisp texture and abundant juice, the first 250 kg batch sold out rapidly as locals rushed to snap them up.

The village's ecological picking garden is now open to the public, offering visitors the chance to pick their own produce or purchase directly. To expand availability, Dangsheng Village has partnered with local supermarkets, creating a multi-channel sales strategy for the cherry tomatoes and the upcoming strawberry harvest. Village head Gao Ming highlighted the excellent quality, sweetness, and yield of this year's crop, singling out the Nongyou 1744 variety for special praise. He also announced plans to expand its cultivation next year.
