Pingtan, the closest place on the Chinese mainland to the island of Taiwan and a key hub for cross-Straits integration, has launched a new immersive cultural and tourism attraction at its Taiwan-style Film Base. The venue features a 1:1 reconstruction of classic scenes from the TV drama Silent Honor (also known as Chen Mo De Rong Yao in Chinese), which opened to the public recently.

The drama crew of Silent Honor filmed at the base from March to April 2024. The restoration project meticulously recreates the nostalgic Taipei streetscapes from the drama. Vintage elements including alleyway signs, rickshaws and snack stalls faithfully replicate the drama's historical ambiance, allowing visitors to step into a"world on screen." "This is my first visit and it's amazing – the scenes are perfect for photos," said tourist Hou Leyi.

The fully open street now welcomes drama fans, photography enthusiasts and nostalgia lovers alike to retrace the drama's footprints and experience the unique charm of "film + real-scene" cultural tourism.
