Pingtan, a coastal island in Fujian Province with rich cross-Straits cultural ties and stunning maritime scenery, is set to host a packed lineup of Spring Festival events in 2026, blending timeless traditions with modern entertainment for an unforgettable Spring Festival holiday.

From February to March, festivities unfold at multiple venues across the island. At Longwangtou Ocean Park, dive in the Classic of Mountains and Seas live-action role-playing game, enjoy China chic concerts with Sichuan opera face-changing and Han costume shows, plus lion dances and parades from the first to the seventh day of the lunar new year. The celebrations culminate on March 3 with a dazzling dragon lantern procession for the Lantern Festival. Taiwan Town kicks off its new opening ceremony and Spring Carnival on February 10, offering intangible cultural heritage (ICH) activities, Taiwan-style specialty markets, and stage performances including live bands and traditional opera from February 17 to 23.

Foodies must not miss the new year market at Cuiyuan Park, open until March 4. Indulge in local specialties like Pingtan Laver and dried seafood alongside Taiwan and Fujian delicacies, as well as premium daffodil displays. The 22nd International Yacht Marina offers unique "Sea New Year Feasts" until February 23, including seafood dinners, afternoon tea, and KTV packages aboard luxury yachts.

Cultural highlights include the 4th Spring Festival Film Screening at Pingtan Cultural Center from February 17 to 19, street concerts on February 19 to 20, and ICH performances featuring Cane Shield Opera, Ciming Opera, and Fujian Opera on February 22 to 23. The 9th Lantern Festival Riddle Garden Party at Wind Power Cultural and Sports Park on March 2 and the Lantern Festival Folk Parade in the old town on March 3 will cap off the celebrations with traditional dragon and lion dances.

Sports fans can take part in a series of lively events including baseball, tennis, football, curling, and basketball at Pingtan Fitness Center and other venues until March 1. Pingtan International Performing Arts Center will stage the dance drama Xishi on February 6 and a golden melody concert on March 6, while ICH workshops on paper cutting, lantern making, and gold foil rubbing will be held from March 1 to 3.
