Pingtan, China's fifth-largest island and the closest mainland place to Taiwan Island, is a national-level international tourism island accelerating its coastal tourism infrastructure development. On March 9, 2026, Pingtan announced the first phase of Zhuyu Bay yacht marina had entered its final completion stage and is scheduled to open in early April.

With a total investment of 110 million yuan, this flagship coastal tourism infrastructure project includes the construction of 40 yacht berths, one hoisting berth, one connection bridge, one landing platform and one management building. It also features an 827.8-meter revetment renovation, alongside supporting water supply and drainage, power supply and lighting, and fire protection facilities.

Endowed with an extensive coastline and high-quality marine resources, Pingtan has exceptional conditions for developing the yacht economy and marine sports. The marina's completion will provide berthing, supply and maintenance services for yachts and sailboats, and act as a vital pillar for the tourism island to advance marine tourism, foster yacht events and extend the high-end leisure industry chain.
