Pingtan advances three major projects to boost cultural tourism and rural vitality
en.ptnet.cn | Updated:2026-03-19 | Lin Kongbo, StephaniePingtan, an international tourism island in Fujian Province and a key coastal destination, has launched three signature projects covering high-end hospitality, creative industry, and rural revitalization — a luxury hotel, wellness retreat, and fragrance factory — to upgrade its tourism landscape and drive high-quality development.

On March 16, the Vignette Collection Pingtan Zhuyu Lake Hotel, a five-star hotel developed by Pingtan Cultural Tourism Group, broke ground beside Zhuyu Lake. Located at the core ecological area of Zhuyu Lake, the hotel will offer more than 300 high-end guest rooms, plus supporting facilities including meeting rooms, restaurants, and wellness amenities. Operated by IHG Hotels & Resorts, the hotel will bring the group's global service standards to Pingtan under the Vignette Collection brand. It marks the first five-star project led by a local state-owned enterprise and is expected to be completed by the end of 2028.

Down the coast in Wuxing Village, a new yoga retreat has opened its doors. The first phase of the project — a light-filled wellness center and communal public study — is now welcoming guests. Set along the water, it offers holistic restorative programs built around yoga, rest, and healthy meals. A second phase is in the works.

The Koutisang Perfume Factory is preparing for trial production. The facility's automated line handles extraction, blending, bottling, and quality inspection. The main attraction will be the fragrance art center and "scent museum" opening later this spring. Designed to blend coastal Fujian elements with French perfumery traditions, the space will feature interactive exhibits on scent-making and perfume history. It opens to the public at the end of April.
