Kourtisanes (Fujian) Biotechnology Co., Ltd., a fragrance manufacturer based in Pingtan, has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Canadian wellness company Yilan Health, marking the company's official entry into the Canadian market.

The signing ceremony, recently held by the two companies, represents more than a commercial partnership. It brings together Eastern fragrance aesthetics and North American wellness philosophies as both sides seek to expand the reach of natural aromatherapy and health-focused fragrance products.

Located in Pingtan — China's second International Tourism Island and a growing hub for cultural and creative industries — Kourtisanes has developed its fragrance and wellness business by drawing inspiration from the island's coastal environment and natural botanical resources. The company's expansion into North America also reflects Pingtan's deepening international business ties and efforts to cultivate new industries linked to tourism, wellness and cultural exchange.

Founded in 2013, Yilan Health has spent more than a decade developing products in the aromatherapy and wellness sector. The company incorporates high-end fragrance techniques from Grasse — widely regarded as the world's perfume capital — into products that combine natural plant-based ingredients with modern wellness technologies. Its fragrance lines are designed to deliver both therapeutic benefits and premium lifestyle appeal.

Xu Wangyong, chairman of Kourtisanes (Fujian) Biotechnology Co., Ltd., said the partnership marks an important step in the company's international expansion strategy and reflects efforts to meet growing demand in Canada's wellness market.

According to Xu, Kourtisanes uses natural botanical ingredients and manufactures its products in a Class 100,000 cleanroom facility, supported by traditional distillation methods and low-temperature extraction technologies. He said these production standards align closely with Canadian consumers' increasing interest in natural health and wellness products.

Looking ahead, Xu said the company plans to leverage Yilan Health's distribution channels and market resources across North America while drawing on Kourtisanes' strengths in fragrance research, development and manufacturing.
