Pingtan, Fujian Province's largest island off China's southeast coast, has entered the peak harvest season for Taiwan-grown daylilies in Fengmei Village, where farmers are busy picking flower buds across a 168-mu plantation managed by a professional team from Taiwan. The base cultivates nine premium varieties, led by the "Tainong No. 6" cultivar, with daily harvests reaching about 750 kilograms — double last year's output. Local officials said the project has created jobs for nearby residents and will continue expanding as part of broader efforts to promote rural revitalization and agri-tourism development on the island.
