The Pingtan leg of the 2026 China Baseball League concluded on May 28 at Pingtan Baseball Park, marking the final stop of this season's three-leg circuit following competitions in Chengdu and Tianjin.

Officials and guests, including Fujian provincial sports authorities and representatives from Pingtan, attended the closing ceremony and presented awards to outstanding players and teams.

During the ceremony, organizers announced the results of the tournament and handed out a series of individual honors, including awards for best pitcher, best stolen base, best scorer, best hitter, best home run and most valuable player.

The Fujian Sake Baseball Team, jointly formed by players from Fujian and across the Taiwan Straits, emerged as one of the standout teams of the tournament. The squad defeated strong opponents from Guangdong, Tianjin, Beijing, Shandong, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Sichuan to finish unbeaten and secure the Pingtan leg title.

The victory marked the team's second China Baseball League stage championship in just over two years since its formation. More significantly, the result earned the Fujian Sake Baseball Team their first-ever berth in the league finals, marking a historic milestone for the club.

With the regional stages now complete, attention is turning to the national finals, which are also set to be held at Pingtan Baseball Park. According to the schedule, the Fujian Sake Baseball Team will face Tianjin at 9 a.m. on May 30.

Team members said they hope to carry their strong momentum into the finals and deliver another impressive performance in front of home fans on the island.
