The 15th Common Homeland Forum opens in Pingtan on June 10, bringing together participants from across the Taiwan Straits, as well as representatives from Hong Kong, Macao and overseas Chinese communities.

Hosted by the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone Administrative Committee, the forum runs from June 9 to 11 and officially opens on June 10.

This year's forum focuses on grassroots communities and younger generations from Taiwan. Discussions center on facilitating cross-Straits exchanges and advancing deeper integration.

The main forum features keynote speeches under the theme "United in Purpose, Embarking on a New Journey," a stage performance titled "Building Dreams on Pingtan, Sharing a Common Homeland," and a dialogue session featuring participants from Taiwan. Attendees exchange views on deepening cross-Straits integrated development and advancing Pingtan's role as a pilot zone for a shared cross-Straits market.

The event also highlights the experiences of Taiwan residents living, working and starting businesses in Pingtan, offering insights into how cross-Straits integration is creating opportunities in everyday life.

In addition to the main forum, a series of supporting events will be held. These include a cross-Straits symposium on the development of Taiwan's medicinal mushroom (Antrodia cinnamomea) industry and the second cross-Straits conference on aligning meteorological standards. Organizers say the events are designed to strengthen industrial cooperation and promote greater standards alignment across the Taiwan Straits.

The forum also showcases Pingtan's latest achievements in promoting economic cooperation, social integration and people-to-people ties across the Taiwan Straits, while highlighting key projects and policies that have delivered tangible benefits for Taiwan residents. Organizers hope the event will help build broader consensus on developing a shared market and a common homeland across the Taiwan Straits.
